Review by Two Books on the Go
This book was my first foray into Regency and it certainly won’t be my last! I was hooked from the very beginning and oh my! - I had no idea Regency was served up with such a huge dollop of sauce, which I have to say I loved. The characters of Theresa and Jamie are just superb and the sparks flying between them would light more than one bonfire on Guy Fawkes Night. Their banter was also top notch – fast and funny and super intelligent – a joy to read. I raced through this book, loving the slow-burn of the characters’ relationship coupled with their fast repartee. (What a shame there are not more real life Jamies in this world – I mean, wowsers!) The story is thoroughly enjoyable, the settings fabulous. If you love Regency, then this is a fantastic book for you. If you are new to the genre, give this one a whirl – like me, I expect you’ll love it!
