The final installment of the Dark Side series provides plenty of excitement while showcasing the budding BDSM relationship between Eva Byrne and Nathan Darke.As the final book, this installment packs a powerful punch. Complete with erotic phone conversations and super hot play sessions, the storyline seems to move along well. Add in a few challenges, and the road gets bumpy. This is where the author really shone in the character development. For much of the series, I couldn't really get a read on Nathan, but even a Master can have a vulnerable side. Powerful scenes packed with emotion fill this installment, making it my favorite.

As the ending of the series, I loved it. I loved how the ending reflected the imperfection of their relationship, but was still a happy ending with the hint of a bright future for them as a couple. Overall, I loved this series and I can't wait to dive into the next trio of novellas from this world. If you like dark romances with strong elements of BDSM and hints of a modern version of Jane Eyre, I think you'll like this series. Eva has come so far and to have an act of jealous come between then was so upsetting. This is definitely the book that made me the most emotional.
I will say the journey Eva and Nathan take in Darkest easily make this my favorite of the three books. I gasp, giggled and cried. As for the end, let’s just say I couldn’t ask for a better one.
And so the story ends. I’m so sad to say goodbye. Eva, Nathan and all the other characters have been some my favorites and I feel like I have moved away some great friends. If you get a chance, read the The Dark Side Trilogy. As for recommendations, read Darkest. You won’t be disappointed.
